The Company You Keep
Ben Shepard (Shia LaBoeuf) is a reporter in Albany, New York
who’s hungry to report a real story. He gets involved after the FBI arrest a
woman who’s been a wanted fugitive for over 30 years. The woman is Sharon
Solarz (Susan Sarandon) who was as a member of a radical group who committed a bank robbery.
Jim Grant (Robert Redford who is also the director), a
defense attorney refuses to take the case which leads Ben to check into him and
discover that he is not who he appears to be. Grant goes on the run and the FBI
do their best to track him down.
I don’t want to say too much about the plot but it’s a
thought-provoking thriller with action, mystery and romance. Besides the actors I’ve already mentioned, the
great cast includes Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Julie Christie, Stanley Tucci,
Brit Marling, Richard Jenkins, Terence Howard, Sam Elliott and Brendan
Gleeson.
