Jews and Baseball

I'm not a big fan of sports and yet I found this documentary film directed by Peter Miller very interesting, inspirational and informative.

Jewish athletes haven't been a big part of American sports. This film shows that there have been some Jewish athletes who excelled in the very American sport of baseball.

Baseball was an easy and way that young immigrant Jewish kids could interact with other American kids. Some of those kids got very good at the game and went professional.

Viewers of this films will learn a bit about the history of baseball in United States as well as about some of the great Jewish baseball players which include Hank Greenberg and Sandy Koufax.
It's not just a documentary about sports but also about American history, community, race, religion and politics including interviews and footage of games.

The narrator sounded very familiar to me. This wasn't surprising when I realized he was Dustin Hoffman.
