Rupert and Kristin go to great lengths to get help for their son.
When their son's encounter with a horse seems to affect him positively, they wonder if it's possible to find a way of healing that combines with horses.
They decide to take him to Mongolia where they ride horses and visit local shamans to search for healing for Rowan..
Here are a few scenes from the film.

I found this to be a very moving and inspiring documentary. It's not just simply a story about a family. There are also interviews that give you more information and insight into Autism. The DVD includes a very extra informative film with Temple Grandin. I reviewed a film based on her life in a previous post.
You can find even more info including all the awards this film received on this page.
Their experiences in Mongolia led Rupert and Kristin to start their own center in Texas where they help autistic children by allowing them to interact with horses. It's called the Horse Boy Foundation.
For those interested in updates about how Rowan is doing, you can find links to blogs and more information at Horse Boy World.
